Watch the rain

Watch the rain

First there was lightning. Then thunder.
We were parked on the rooftop.
We drove down. The rains trickled.
We parked outside. Downpour was grave.
We stayed inside the car watching.
We didn’t want to get wet.
Downpour stopped. We left the car.
Ah, the power of the rain.

The grind of December

It has been cloudy since Sunday. In fact, it rained every day. But I’m not complaining. Rains wash the earth and all its inhabitants. The plants are refreshed, most especially my newly-planted flowering plant. Ah how to identify it. I must start researching. I love its color and bloom – it’s a bit pinkish but on the pale side, but I don’t even know its name. Ah the pressure of a name.

However, the trouble with a cloudy day is the temptation to hit the bed again, coil, and just sleep away. Such temptation. And I’m yawning already. Ah coffee. Maybe I need one.

I’m just taking a break from the daily grind of life. It’s been such a rigorous grind since mid-October and I am looking forward to a break in mid-December so I can do other stuff. I have put aside other important stuff so I can focus on the pressing “grind”.  Haha get the drift?

But like we all know by now, by reason of age and experience, there is a time for everything. It’s even discussed in Franklin Covey’s “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”. One has to decide using the four quadrants. Hmm maybe I should write an article about it after all. Yes! Right, I will… after the “grind”.

Besides, it’s Christmas. Time to laze a bit. Last year, my December was hectic. I was adjusting and learning the ropes of a new job somewhere far so I didn’t enjoy the season that much. It was travel and hurry last December. December before that, well, father died. It was a different December, just the same. This December, let’s try to relax a bit and embrace the surprises that the season will tag along.

And the drizzle starts.

Hmm. Hit the bed? Or get back to work? Choices, choices.

And it rains. Rainy December, it is.
